Rome judge asks Constitutional Court to review Senate vote in Santanchè case
Daniela Santanchè is accused of defaming Giuseppe Zeno, a minority shareholder in Visibilia Editore.
The Senate voted in July that her statements in Parliament were protected and denied authorization to proceed with the case.
A Rome judge has asked Italy’s Constitutional Court to decide whether the Senate had the right to make that assessment.
The court’s decision will determine whether the case can move forward.
