Six truckloads of waste removed from a house in Kuşadası

Neighbors in Soğucak, a neighborhood in Kuşadası in Turkey’s Aydın province, reported bad odors coming from a three-storey house.

Police, municipal officers and cleaning crews went to the home, whose door was opened with a locksmith’s help.

A 15-person team removed household waste and other items that had reportedly been collected there over a long period.

The waste filled six trucks and was taken to a landfill for disposal.

Crews then disinfected and treated the rooms and garden to prevent odors and pests.

Neighbors said the conditions had affected them, including one resident who said she had to treat her home for fleas.

The cleanup addressed residents’ complaints, but no further steps were described.
