Microsoft adds security tools and local AI features for Windows

Microsoft has announced new tools for securing AI agents and running AI features on Windows devices.

Its Microsoft Execution Containers are now generally available for AI workloads on Windows 11, with Intune policies to manage them.

The containers are intended to help protect the work that AI agents do.

Microsoft is also adding “hybrid intelligence” to Copilot, using technology from GitHub called HydraFusion to draw on data and models stored on a PC.

Copilot+ PCs with Nvidia’s RTX Spark are available for pre-order, and Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus and MSI are also expected to offer devices with these AI capabilities.

Microsoft says upcoming DGX Station systems will bring advanced AI workloads to Windows devices, including for businesses and researchers.
