NuCube begins 250 kW tests of pump-free reactor technology in Utah

The Utah tests use electricity to create heat similar to what NuCube’s planned reactor would produce.

The design uses sealed heat pipes to move heat, rather than pumps.

Researchers will test equipment for making hydrogen and chemicals and for turning heat into electricity.

The results could help show whether the technology is safe and useful for industrial sites before nuclear fuel is used.
