Turin exhibition traces 80 years of women's progress in Italy

An exhibition about women's history in Italy opened in Turin on October 10.

Called “Women of the Republic,” it uses photographs to trace 80 years of change, from 1946 to 2026.

It includes the 21 women elected to Italy's Constituent Assembly, among 556 members, and the first woman to enter the judiciary in 1965.

It also covers a law that establishes femicide as a separate crime.

The exhibition has a national section on major events and figures, and a regional section on women who shaped Piedmont.

It is in the entrance hall of Palazzo Lascaris, which houses Piedmont's regional council, and was made with the council.

Visitors can see it until November 30.
