Googlebook updates improve Android syncing and add Samsung support
Googlebook is Google’s desktop platform, designed to work closely with Android phones.
Its cross-device features include app streaming, notification syncing and continuing tasks on another device.
At launch, some features were unreliable or difficult to set up, and Samsung phones were not supported.
Google is rolling out updates that simplify setup and fix a pairing-screen issue.
The updates also enable support for compatible Samsung phones running One UI 9.0, though some users have confirmed it is working so far.
Phones need Android 17, Google Play services version 26.37 or later, and Cross-device services version 1.0.1346 or later.
Users also need Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on, the same Google Account on both devices, and the relevant settings enabled.
Google says the features work with Pixel and other compatible Android 17 phones.
