Dundee United beat Hibernian 1-0 in Marink Reedijk’s first match

Dundee United beat Hibernian 1-0 at Tannadice, with Daniel Bennie scoring the only goal in the first half.

The match was Marink Reedijk’s first in charge of Hibs.

The 34-year-old Belgian was appointed after Hibs supporters had grown frustrated with the football under his predecessor, David Gray.

Reedijk built his reputation at Beveren, guiding the Belgian club to promotion without losing a game last season.

Hibs began brightly but struggled to turn chances into goals and were booed by some away supporters at the final whistle.

The defeat leaves Reedijk with work to do on both Hibs’ defending and their attack.
