Trump says Russia will supply diesel to US and global markets

Trump said Russia would quickly send more than 300,000 tonnes of diesel to the US and other markets.

Diesel is used in farming, home heating and trucking, and its price is near a record high.

Analysts said the supply was unlikely to bring prices down much.

The announcement comes before US congressional elections on Nov 3.
