Russia plans to require history exams for more university programs

The exam is part of the Unified State Exam, which students take when applying to universities.

The ministry has previously said it plans to make history compulsory for 43 programs.
The planned change would include humanities and social science programs where universities could previously choose between history and social studies.
The ministry has not yet specified the final list of programs or when the new requirements will be published.
