Russia plans two pension increases in 2027, bringing average to nearly 30,000 rubles

Russia plans to increase insurance pensions twice in 2027.

Finance Minister Anton Siluanov announced the plan at a meeting of a State Duma committee on budget and taxes.

The first increase is planned for February and is set at 6.8%, based on inflation in 2026.

A second increase of 3.3% is planned for April, based on forecast wage growth.

The average old-age pension is expected to reach 29,924 rubles by the end of 2027.

Russia also plans to raise the subsistence minimum to 20,227 rubles and the minimum wage to 28,935 rubles.

The minimum-wage increase is intended to support a goal of reaching 35,000 rubles by 2030.
