Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan lead march in Delhi as CJP leaders detained

Activist Yogendra Yadav, lawyer Prashant Bhushan and student leader Neha Bora led a march in Delhi on Saturday.

They marched from Jor Bagh towards Dilli Haat-INA as police detained leaders of the Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained after arriving at Delhi airport from Mumbai.

The party had planned a protest at Jantar Mantar called “Jantar Mantar 2.0.”

It wanted Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign over the Election Commission’s special intensive revision of electoral rolls.

The detained leaders could not reach the planned protest site.

The march took place amid the police action, but no further steps are stated.
