Google Wallet update adds receipt scanning and an in-app message center

Google Play Services v26.40 adds several features to Google Wallet, Google's digital wallet app.

Users can now scan and add receipts, though Google has not explained which receipts are supported or where the feature will be available.

Google Pay on Chrome for Android can skip a payment interface when users share their name, email address and phone number with a merchant.

Wallet transaction notifications will show clearer merchant names, and the app now has an in-app message center.

The changes aim to make payments and wallet information easier to manage, but Google has not said whether all the features are available worldwide.

The update also brings new Play Store features, including AI summaries of community posts and answers based on user reviews.
