Gulf tourism operators keep investing as visitor numbers fall

The conflict caused visitor numbers in the Gulf to fall sharply.

The United Arab Emirates received almost half as many overnight visitors from January to August as in the same period last year.

Tourism businesses are still investing because they expect the situation to improve.

Flights are gradually returning, and Dubai airport says it is operating at about 83% of its capacity.
