Poll finds many Britons tired of superhero films and fond of classic action heroes
A poll of 2,000 people in Britain found that seven in ten were tired of superhero films.
Among people aged 18 to 29, the figure was eight in ten.
Respondents most often said superhero stories felt predictable and relied too much on visual effects.
Sean Connery’s James Bond was the most popular action hero, followed by Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator.
Seven in ten respondents said classic action heroes seemed more authentic than modern super-powered heroes.
The poll was commissioned by Great Action, which is showing classic action films this autumn.
