Aedes albopictus mosquito lays eggs up to 10.8 metres above ground

Aedes albopictus is a mosquito in the same genus as Aedes aegypti.

A study found it can lay eggs as high as 10.8 metres above the ground.

That is about the height of a three- to four-storey building.

The finding shows the mosquito can lay eggs well above ground level.
