‘Gentle Monster’ explores a family’s discovery of a hidden crime

The film follows Lucy, whose husband’s secret is exposed after police find child abuse material on one of his devices.

The discovery shakes Lucy’s understanding of her family and forces her to face conflicting emotions.

Director Marie Kreutzer said she chose to make the film rather than avoid its difficult subject.

Netflix plans to release it in some cinemas on October 30 and begin streaming it on November 18.
