Messina urges NBA and EuroLeague to protect European basketball’s identity

Messina, an Italian coach now working as a consultant for the Atlanta Hawks, spoke about the future of European basketball.

He warned that a separate NBA league in Europe could add to the sport’s existing divisions.

He hopes the NBA and EuroLeague can agree on a shared competition.

He said any agreement should preserve the passion and character of European basketball.
