Astral finds high-grade gold beneath Theia and extends mineralisation south

Astral Resources has found more gold at Theia, part of its Mandilla project about 70 kilometres south of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

One drill hole found 33 metres of gold averaging 5.02 grams per tonne below the deposit’s current resource pit shell.

Other drilling found gold deeper underground and about 150 metres south of the current resource boundary.

Theia already contains about 1.4 million ounces of gold, and the new results may point to more that can be added.

The deep results could help show whether enough gold is present to support mining underground after the open pit reaches its economic limit.

Astral has completed 18 of 21 planned deep diamond drill holes, while its infill drilling at Theia is continuing.

The company plans to move its drill rigs to other project areas during the December quarter and is targeting a definitive feasibility study in the March quarter of 2027, subject to heritage approvals.

What people are saying

These are important results as we work to establish the scale and continuity of higher-grade mineralisation at depth that could potentially support future underground extraction once we reach the economic base of the Theia Open Pit.

Equally encouraging are the results from drill-holes AMRCD466 and AMRCD467, drilled approximately 150 metres south of the current mineral resource, where we have intersected further significant zones of open pit gold mineralisation, highlighting further opportunities for resource growth at Theia.
