Russia says it is ready to send more diesel to the US

Russia says it is ready to supply more diesel to the United States in October.

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said exports could also rise in November and December.

He said Russia would still fully supply its own domestic market.

The announcement followed a call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 9, when they agreed on diesel supplies for the US and global markets.

On the same day, the US Treasury issued a temporary licence allowing transactions involving Russian diesel sales, delivery and imports.

Russia is also removing some limits on diesel exports earlier than planned.

The move comes as governments focus on keeping energy trade flowing and stabilising fuel markets.
