Chinese brands’ share of Russia’s new-car market falls to 36%

Chinese car brands accounted for 36% of new-car sales in Russia in September 2026.

Their share was 62% in September 2024, and sales in September fell from 92,000 to 43,000 transactions over those two years.

In the first nine months of 2026, 377,000 Chinese-brand cars were sold in Russia.

That was about 100,000 fewer than in the same period of 2025 and 300,000 fewer than in 2024.

The figures were given by Alexander Kornev, head of the importers department at Gazprombank Autoleasing.

He expects Chinese-brand sales to reach about 500,000 cars for the full year, with a market share of 35% to 36%.

Haval led Chinese brands in September with 14,300 vehicles sold, followed by Geely, Changan, Jetour and GAC.
