Anker announces 5,024Wh SOLIX S5000 power station for US launch

Anker has announced the SOLIX S5000, a portable power station with a 5,024Wh battery.

It is due to go on sale in the United States on October 27, with a listed price of $3,599.99 and a launch offer of $2,499.99.

The unit can supply up to 4,500W of power and connect to household, RV and USB devices.

Anker says it can run a mix of appliances for up to 48 hours, though actual use will vary with the devices and their power needs.

The battery uses lithium iron phosphate cells, which Anker rates for thousands of charge cycles.

The S5000 weighs about 44kg and has wheels and a pull handle to help move it.

It can be expanded with additional batteries, but Anker has not announced prices for those options.

The company has not said whether the power station will be sold outside the United States.
