FoodFor’s deal with investor Carsten Maschmeyer falls through after TV pitch

FoodFor is a Zurich-based startup founded by Teresa Cramer, Raphael Taxis and Franziska Kuenburg.

It sells four small drinks intended to support focus, energy, mood or relaxation, as an alternative to taking several supplement pills.

On the German TV show “Höhle der Löwen,” investor Carsten Maschmeyer offered €300,000 for a 20% stake, and the founders accepted.

The company had been on the market for about a year and reported sales of roughly €100,000 in the previous year.

Investors on the show questioned its valuation and were concerned that an existing convertible loan could affect ownership if the company raised more money.

Maschmeyer’s offer depended on the founders reaching an agreement with those existing lenders while keeping their majority stake.

After the show, the deal fell through because of the existing investors and the conditions around them.

What people are saying
