France says EU sanctions will block Russian fuel from its service stations
US President Donald Trump said he had negotiated large deliveries of Russian diesel to US and global markets, while lifting some sanctions on Moscow.
French government spokeswoman Maud Bregeon said the deal does not change sanctions imposed by the European Union.
She said Russian fuel will not appear at French service stations as a result.
France can check the origin and route of crude and refined fuel, including shipments that pass through other countries for transport or refining, she said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticised the US decision.
Bregeon said it is too early to know whether the deliveries will lower fuel prices, because their timing and volumes are unclear.

There will be no Russian fuel tomorrow in French pumps and service stations.

As for the actual effect of price reductions, allow me to be very cautious because as long as we do not know when it will arrive and especially in what volumes, we cannot predict a fall in prices in the future.
