BYD produces its 150,000th new energy commercial vehicle

BYD has produced its 150,000th new energy commercial vehicle, a category that includes electric vehicles.

The milestone vehicle was a Q3 battery-electric semi truck built at the company’s plant in Huai’an, Jiangsu province, China.

BYD says the Q3 has a 600 kWh battery and a 600 kW motor system, and can travel about 200 miles on one charge while hauling a heavy load.

It also supports fast charging, with BYD saying it can charge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes.

The milestone comes as BYD expands beyond passenger cars and batteries into commercial vehicles, including heavy trucks that can reduce diesel use and emissions.

BYD sold 6,848 new energy trucks in September and delivered 53,032 in the first nine months of 2026; no further steps are specified.
