Mediapart presents new evidence linking Bardella to antisemitic messages
Mediapart says it has found new evidence connecting French far-right leader Jordan Bardella to antisemitic messages sent in a 2013 Facebook Messenger chat.
The messages included claims about Jewish people and banks.
Bardella has denied writing them.
Four people who spoke with the account at the time told Mediapart that Bardella controlled it, and three supplied saved conversations.
Mediapart also compared the chat with posts from Bardella’s Twitter account, which has remained the same and which he has not said was hacked.
It says that in September 2013, a message in the chat repeated information Bardella had posted publicly on Twitter just two minutes earlier.
The new evidence matters because it challenges Bardella’s denial that he wrote the messages.
The sources do not say what will happen next.
