Asti healthy ageing project presented as European good practice

Asti’s local health authority launched Communit-Action in September 2025 to support active, healthy ageing.

The project was presented in Vilnius at the third transnational meeting of the European ActAge programme, after an invitation from FinPiemonte.

It was recognised as a European good practice for combining prevention, social participation and local resources.

The project uses a “positive health” approach, treating older people as active members of their communities rather than only as recipients of care.

It brings health, social and recreational services together to support people’s quality of life and independence as they age.

The international discussion also highlighted public-system sustainability and funding tied to measurable social results, and Asti’s experience will contribute to the wider European debate.
