Five Italian projects receive awards for more human-centered care

The Humanizing Health Awards recognized five projects that aim to make care more supportive for patients and families.

The awards were presented in Milan at the seventh edition of the event, promoted by Teva Italia.

Each selected project, from a different part of Italy, will receive €10,000 in funding.

Their work includes psychological support for caregivers through sailing in Ravenna and animal-assisted therapy for people with neuromuscular diseases in Brescia.

Other projects offer rehabilitation for children with cancer in Modena, a therapeutic garden for frail older people in Milan, and support for women receiving cancer treatment in Florence.

The awards highlight that care can involve more than medicine, including practical and emotional support.

The funding is intended to help these non-profit groups continue their work.
