Akie Abe and Japanese group leader meet RSS general secretary in New Delhi

Akie Abe, the wife of late former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale in New Delhi on October 8.

Tomohiko Taniguchi, chairman of the Japanese organisation Nippon Kaigi, also took part.

The meeting was held at the RSS office and lasted more than an hour.

Participants discussed ways to deepen India–Japan relations, including cultural cooperation and people-focused initiatives.

The RSS is an Indian organisation, while Nippon Kaigi is a Japanese non-governmental organisation.

The meeting matters because both sides expressed interest in strengthening cultural ties between the countries.

They said they would explore possible areas for cooperation, but no specific projects were announced.
