Egyptian President Arrives in Jakarta for Meeting With Prabowo
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi arrived in Jakarta on Saturday for a state visit.
He is due to meet Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at Merdeka Palace on Sunday morning.
The visit follows Prabowo’s trips to Egypt in 2024 and 2025, and is the final stop on al-Sisi’s Asian tour.
Indonesia’s foreign minister said the visit aims to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries.
The leaders are scheduled to hold a one-on-one meeting and broader bilateral talks.
They are also expected to sign agreements covering visa arrangements, statistical cooperation and fisheries, and discuss an action plan for closer ties.
Al-Sisi is scheduled to return to Egypt on Sunday afternoon.
