Tonggu launches regional brand for huangjing products
Tonggu County in Jiangxi province has launched a regional brand for products made from huangjing, a plant grown in the area.
The brand and an industry development plan were unveiled at an event in Nanchang on October 11.
The event also featured products from 11 companies, including huangjing tea, liquor and preserved fruit.
Tonggu has 82,000 mu of huangjing planted under forest cover and 17 companies working in the industry.
The county has also established a plant seed resource bank and is working with Zhejiang A&F University on further research.
The industry is a priority in Tonggu's plan for the next five years, and local officials say they aim to expand seedling production and processing.
They also plan to attract fresh huangjing from nearby areas for processing in Tonggu and develop the county as a regional industry hub.

The brand logo, mascot and slogan were unveiled, and a strategic cooperation agreement was signed.
