More than 140,000 register for France's left-wing presidential primary

Five candidates are competing in a primary to represent France's left in the 2027 presidential election.

More than 140,000 people registered to vote, above organizers' earlier target of 90,000.

The large turnout makes it harder to predict who will win.

The result is expected Saturday evening.
