GST refunds under dispute will require officer review before release

Some businesses can get 90% of eligible GST refunds within three working days without an officer reviewing the claim.

But if an earlier refund order is challenged or a department appeal is still pending, an officer must check the claim first.

That review could delay money businesses use to run their operations.

The rule applies to certain refund claims, not all GST refunds.
