US suspends sanctions to allow Russian diesel imports, Zelensky condemns move

The US plans to import hundreds of thousands of tonnes of diesel from Russia under an agreement announced by Donald Trump.

To allow the imports, the US is suspending important sanctions against Russia.

Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, condemned the move as a gift to Vladimir Putin.

He said it could help prolong the war instead of ending it.
