Japan extradites Russian Qilin ransomware suspect to Germany

Japan arrested a Russian man accused of involvement in the Qilin ransomware gang.

He was detained in Osaka in May and extradited to Germany in June.

Germany had sought him over an alleged ransomware attack on a German company.

The case shows how countries can work together to investigate cybercrime.

Qilin has continued to carry out attacks despite the suspect’s arrest.
