Erdoğan opens Çerkezköy-Kapıkule railway section

The new railway section is part of a line connecting Halkalı, near Istanbul, with Kapıkule on the Bulgarian border.

Erdoğan said the completed line will shorten passenger and freight journeys and increase carrying capacity.

Faster rail links could help businesses move goods between Turkey and European markets.

The section opened is one of three parts of the wider project.
