Bengaluru Dasara shops add dance, food-stall and procession dolls
As Dasara celebrations begin, doll shops in Bengaluru are offering new collections for people decorating their homes.
The displays include scenes from Hindu epics, deities and sets showing Krishna’s life.
New additions include clay or terracotta figures representing eight traditional dance styles, as well as momo stalls and dining sets.
One shopkeeper said the dance collection costs ₹13,000, while a set showing the Dasara procession with an elephant carrying goddess Chamundeshwari costs ₹4,000.
A shop in Basavanagudi also gives customers a free guide explaining how to arrange the dolls and what they represent.
