India urges nationals in Saudi Arabia to stay alert after Riyadh airport attack

India has urged its nationals in Saudi Arabia to stay calm and alert as the Gulf kingdom faces an evolving security situation.

The warning follows a drone and missile attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on October 10, which killed Indian national Mohammed Yousef Ali and injured several people, including 11 Indians.

Four injured Indians remain in intensive care, four are in regular hospital wards, and three have been discharged.

The airport has suspended operations, while other major airports continue to operate with some disruption.

Air India, Air India Express, Akasa Air and IndiGo have suspended some Saudi routes until October 17; Saudia and Flynas continue some scheduled services.

India’s embassy advises people to check with airlines, follow Saudi authorities’ instructions and avoid sharing videos or news about the events.

The embassy has opened a 24-hour assistance line, and Indians who need to leave may consider flights from Qatar or Bahrain, subject to those countries’ visa rules.
