Indore's Reoti Range Sets Green Record With 13.10 Lakh Trees
People in Indore, a city in India, decided to do something amazing for nature.
They planted a huge number of little trees, called saplings, in one special place called Reoti Range.
On one single day in 2024, they planted more than 12 lakh saplings — that is more than a million!
Then they looked after the young trees for two years, watering them and helping them grow.
Some saplings did not survive, so they grew new ones in a nursery and planted them instead.
Now, 13,10,012 trees are growing at Reoti Range.
That is such a big number that the Asia Book of World Records gave Indore a world record.
A big leader named Kailash Vijayvargiya said every tree helps clean the air we breathe.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's idea, called 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', inspired the people.
Indore wants to become a green city and has promised to plant even more trees.
Reoti Range in Indore now has 13,10,012 trees, a world record verified by the Asia Book of World Records.
More than 12,41,000 saplings were planted in a single day in 2024 by residents and Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, setting a world record.
A nursery was set up to replace saplings that did not survive, and one lakh more saplings were planted in 2025.
The record certificate was received during a Sunday plantation drive in which 51,000 trees were planted.
Official credit went to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and the Indore Municipal Corporation, while BJP leader BL Santosh linked the drive to PM Modi's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative.
