Second All India Gandhi Literature Conference Set For October
A major conference about Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas will be held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
It will happen on October 8 and 9, 2026.
The Mahatma Gandhi Mission and the Maharashtra Gandhi Memorial Fund are organising it together.
Writers, scientists and Gandhi scholars will attend.
Some participants will come from other countries as well as different parts of India.
People will discuss democracy, peace, non-violence and protecting the environment.
The discussions will take place in Marathi, Hindi, Urdu and English.
University leaders will also talk about ways to spread Gandhian ideas.
The first conference was held in Pune in 2025.
The second All India Gandhi Literature Conference will take place on October 8 and 9, 2026, at the Mahatma Gandhi Mission campus in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The conference is jointly organised by the Mahatma Gandhi Mission and the Maharashtra Gandhi Memorial Fund, Pune.
Dr Vivek Sawant will preside, while Prof Dr Purushottam Agrawal will address the inaugural session.
Sessions in Marathi, Hindi, Urdu and English will examine Gandhi’s ideas on nationalism, democracy, justice, peace and sustainability.
Scholars from India and several other countries will participate, alongside a university leaders’ roundtable on promoting Gandhian thought.
