Cotton Yield Likely to Remain Unchanged in Adilabad This Kharif · deccanchronicle.com

Farmers in Adilabad have had less rain than usual this season.

Even so, officials say cotton plants are growing well, especially in black soil.

They expect the cotton harvest to be about the same as last year if there are no more long dry spells.

Soybean harvesting has started, and the average yield so far is eight quintals per acre.

Farmers are hoping cotton will receive a minimum support price of Rs 8,667 per quintal.

New slot-booking rules will let farmers book a period of up to 14 days to bring cotton to market yards.

Officials will also monitor cotton coming from nearby parts of Maharashtra.
