A school principal in Alwar, Rajasthan, has been suspended.

Videos appearing on social media allegedly showed him bathing in a dam with girl students.

The students had reportedly gone there after an Independence Day school event.

Reports disagree about exactly how many students went and which classes they were in.

The dam was about two kilometres from the school.

It reportedly had around 11 feet of water, and bathing there was prohibited because it could be dangerous.

Officials said the principal’s reported conduct may have violated public-servant rules.

They have started an official inquiry to investigate what happened.
