Security tightened in Gurugram, Faridabad ahead of Independence Day
Independence Day is a special national holiday in India, and this year the police in the cities of Gurugram and Faridabad are working hard to keep everyone safe.
In Gurugram, about 4,500 police officers will be on duty for the celebrations.
They have set up 11 checkpoints that will be active from 4 pm on August 13 until the celebrations end.
The main celebration will take place at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Sector-38, where a special guest will raise the national flag.
Anyone visiting a celebration venue will be checked with metal detectors before entering.
Women visitors will be checked by women police officers in private cabins.
Police officers will also watch from the rooftops of nearby buildings to keep a lookout.
Five fire trucks and five ambulances will be ready in case of any emergency.
Police in Faridabad have also set up checkpoints at 11 places along the district border.
The police say Independence Day is a festival of national pride, and they want it to be safe, peaceful and well organised.

Faridabad Police have set up 11 interstate checkpoints along the district's borders to screen suspicious vehicles and individuals.
