Tribal Man Dies in IED Blast in Karreguttalu Hills
A 55-year-old tribal man named Madakam Nageswara Rao went into the forest with five others to collect bamboo.
He stepped on an explosive device while returning through the Karreguttalu hills.
The blast badly injured him.
His companions used clothes and a wooden carrier to take him through the forest.
They tried to reach a safer place, but he died before getting there.
Police later brought his body to a government hospital for an examination.
The hills had recently been declared free of Maoist activity.
