Hailstones and heavy rain caused damage in parts of Uttarakhand on Friday, October 9.

Crops and vegetables were damaged, and some cars and houses had broken windows.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was flying from Haldwani to Dehradun when he heard about damage in Bazpur.

He changed his helicopter route to visit the area.

He looked at the damage from the air and on the ground, and spoke with farmers.

He asked officials to measure the crop losses and arrange help.

Former chief minister Harish Rawat also called for damage checks and compensation for people with serious losses.

The weather department issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in parts of Dehradun, Nainital, and Pithoragarh, with similar weather expected for two more days.
