IMD Forecasts Heavy Rain in Southern India and Northeast

The India Meteorological Department says some parts of India may get heavy rain.

Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are among the places under the forecast.

Parts of the Northeast may also get rain, with heavy showers possible in Arunachal Pradesh.

Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh may see rain too.

Delhi-NCR is expected to have partly cloudy skies.

The southwest monsoon is expected to move away from more parts of the country.

A weather system may move into the Andaman Sea around October 11.

A low-pressure area may then form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around October 13.
