Congress leaders, students detained ahead of Amit Shah's Alwar visit

A very important government leader named Amit Shah was going to visit a city called Alwar in India.

Before he arrived, the police took some people away and held them at a police station.

The people who were taken are members of a political group called Congress, and some of them were students.

One of the Congress leaders, named Balram Yadav, was having a meal at a hotel when the police came and took him and his helpers.

The Congress group says about two dozen people were taken, but the police say only seven or eight people were taken.

Everyone was brought to a police station in a town called Khairthal.

Hundreds of Congress workers gathered outside the police station to show that they were angry about this.

Nobody is exactly sure how many people were taken because the two groups tell different stories.
