Congress demands accountability as NTA orders UGC-NET retest

The National Testing Agency is the group that runs a big test called UGC-NET for students who want to become teachers or researchers in India.

Some students took this test in June.

But the test papers had mistakes, like wrong facts, bad translations, and questions that were repeated from older tests.

Because of these mistakes, the agency said the students must take the test again in September.

Many students are upset because they did nothing wrong.

Rahul Gandhi, a leader of the Congress party, says the people in charge of the test should be held responsible.

Another leader, Jairam Ramesh, asks why students should pay for the agency's mistakes.

He also worries that students might miss deadlines for university admissions.

The results for many other test subjects are still not out.

Students are waiting to know if they can become researchers or teachers.
