Gulveer Singh Wins Historic 10,000m Silver at Commonwealth Games

Gulveer Singh, an Indian athlete, made history by winning a silver medal in the men's 10,000m race at the Commonwealth Games.

This is the first time an Indian has won a medal in this event.

He ran the race in 27:49.78 seconds, finishing just behind Australia's Ky Robinson.

The race was held in difficult conditions with heavy rain and a wet track.

Gulveer's win is significant because it ended the long-standing dominance of runners from Kenya and Uganda, who are usually very strong in this event.

This achievement is similar to Avinash Sable's silver in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where he also broke Kenyan domination.
