Google Launches Gemini 3.8 Flash With Cybersecurity Upgrades
Google has released two new artificial-intelligence models called Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber.
The regular Flash model is designed to work quickly and cheaply while handling coding and difficult reasoning tasks.
Google says it performs better than the previous Gemini 3.7 Flash.
It is offered at the same introductory price as the older model.
The Cyber version is made to help defenders find software weaknesses and automatically fix them.
Google says it is only available to trusted cybersecurity defenders.
Both models use systems that repeatedly check and improve their work.
Google also says they have protections against harmful cyber activity, dangerous chemical or biological uses, and prompt-injection attacks.
Google introduced Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, its third Flash release in six weeks.
Gemini 3.8 Flash targets software engineering, agentic tasks and complex, multi-step reasoning.
The model keeps Gemini 3.7 Flash’s introductory pricing of $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens.
Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber is designed for vulnerability detection and automated patching and is limited to trusted defenders through the Gfaiwind programme.
Google says the models include safeguards against cyber offense, CBRN misuse and prompt injection, with more permissive cyber mitigations for Flash Cyber.
