Delhi Junction-Shahdara train movement suspended for Independence Day
India celebrates Independence Day on August 15.
There is a special Independence Day ceremony in Delhi.
Because of the ceremony, trains cannot run between two stations in Delhi for a little while in the morning.
The trains are stopped from 6:45 in the morning until 9 o'clock.
Northern Railway is the company that runs these trains.
They made a list of some trains that will not run at all.
Some other trains will take a different route instead.
A few trains will start or end at a different station.
Many trains will leave later than usual.
If you are travelling, ask a grown-up to check your train before going to the station.
Train movement between Delhi Junction and Delhi Shahdara Junction is suspended from 6:45 am to 9:00 am on August 15, 2026, for the Independence Day ceremony.
Four trains, including the 74021 Delhi Jn-Saharanpur Jn DMU and the 64417 Ghaziabad-Delhi Jn MEMU, are temporarily cancelled.
Four trains are diverted, with the 64002 Delhi Jn-Shahdara EMU operating via New Delhi-Tilak Bridge-Sahibabad.
Six services will be short-terminated or short-originated, and three trains will be regulated at Delhi Junction or Delhi Shahdara till security clearance.
Five trains, including the Delhi Jn-Kotdwar Siddhabali Jan-Shatabdi and the Sikkim Mahananda Express, have revised departure times on August 15.
